National Exhibition 2026 – Deputy Minister Joins the Second Day

The National Exhibition, organized by the Palmyrah Development Board, operating under the Ministry of Plantation and Community Infrastructure, is being held at the Vavuniya Municipal Council Auditorium under the theme “Palmyrah – The Tree of Life and Prosperity of the Nation”, in line with the national policy framework “A Wealthy Country – A Beautiful Life.”
On the second day of the exhibition, yesterday (08 August 2026), the Hon. Deputy Minister of Plantation and Community Infrastructure, Hon. Sundaralingam Pradeep participated as the Chief Guest, and Batticaloa District Member of Parliament Hon. Kanthasamy Prabu participated as the Special Guest.
The event was also attended by Mr. R. Raveenthiran, Chairman of the Palmyrah Development Board; Mr. S. Yasindhan, General Manager; Dr. S. Srivijeindran, Deputy General Manager; senior management officials of the Board, regional coordinators, and district-level officers and staff of the Palmyrah Development Board, who contributed to the organization and successful implementation of the exhibition.
The exhibition features a wide range of Palmyrah-based products, which are being displayed and made available for sale to the public. In addition, various research projects related to Palmyrah resources are also being carried out as part of the exhibition.
