Palmyrah Seed Planting Programme – Mandaitivu, Jaffna

In celebration of National Palmyrah Planting Month, a special Palmyrah Seed Planting Programme was successfully conducted on 14 October 2026 in Mandaitivu, Jaffna, as part of the One Million Palmyrah Planting Programme.
Hon. Sundaralingam Pradeep, Deputy Minister, participated in the programme and personally planted palmyrah seeds, demonstrating his commitment to promoting palmyrah cultivation and environmental sustainability. The event was also attended by the General Manager, Deputy General Manager, Senior Management Officials, and Staff Members of the Palmyrah Development Board.
This significant initiative aims to conserve and expand palmyrah resources, promote environmental sustainability, strengthen the palmyrah industry, and preserve this valuable natural heritage for future generations.
The programme reflects the continued commitment of the Palmyrah Development Board towards sustainable palmyrah cultivation, environmental conservation, and long-term community development.
