A training program on palmyrah leaf handicrafts for low-income families in the Ella Divisional Secretariat Division was conducted on 16th September 2025 at 10.00 a.m. at the Ella Cultural Center.
The program was jointly organized by the Palmyrah Development Board and the Ella Divisional Secretariat, under the guidance of the Hon. K.V. Samantha Vidyaratne, Minister of Plantations and Community Infrastructure. Funding support was provided through the decentralized budget allocations of the Badulla District.
The Board’s Hambantota Regional Coordinator and the Instructor also participated in this event, providing technical support and hands-on guidance to the participants.
