During his official visit to Jaffna, Hon. Deputy Minister Sundaralingam Pradeep visited several palmyrah cooperative society offices and cottage industry centres across the district, as part of a programme organized by the Palmyrah Development Board (PDB) to assess the development of the palmyrah and palmyrah-based production sector.
The Deputy Minister met with producers, exporters, and industry workers, listening to their views and firsthand experiences. He discussed possible measures to further strengthen and expand the sector and provided necessary guidance and recommendations to the Chairman of the Palmyrah Development Board, Mr.R.Raveenthiran, to support future development initiatives.
The newly appointed Chairman of the Northern Province Cooperative Employees Commission, Mr. Prakash, also participated in the visit.
