The 16th Jaffna International Trade Fair (JITF) 2026 was successfully held on 23rd, 24th, and 25th January at the Muttraweli Grounds, Jaffna, attracting a large number of visitors, exhibitors, and industry stakeholders from across the country.

The Palmyrah Development Board also participated in the exhibition, showcasing a range of palmyrah-based products. During the three-day event, visitors were warmly invited to purchase and benefit from value-added palmyrah food products, presented with newly designed and modern packaging, reflecting innovative dimensions of palmyrah development.

The event also highlighted the latest technological advancements and innovations across multiple sectors, including industry, agriculture, manufacturing, information and communication technology (ICT), energy, and services. JITF 2026 served as a dynamic platform for businesses to showcase products, introduce new technologies, and explore emerging market opportunities in the Northern Province.

The trade fair also played a vital role in connecting technology providers, suppliers, entrepreneurs, investors, and support service institutions, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing. Participants noted that the event strengthened business networks and contributed to regional economic development by encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship.

Organizers emphasized that JITF continues to be one of the most significant commercial events in Northern Sri Lanka, promoting investment, trade, and sustainable economic growth, while positioning Jaffna as an important hub for business and technological advancement.
