A certificate awarding ceremony for those who successfully completed the Palmyrah-based handicraft training program, together with a ceremony to distribute equipment to selected Palmyrah producers, was held today (21.09.2025) at the Mannar District Secretariat under the auspices of the Palmyrah Development Board.
The event was graced by Deputy Minister Mr. Sundaralingam Pradeep as the Chief Guest, along with Deputy Minister of Industries Mr. Mahinda Jayasinghe, Vanni District Member of Parliament Mr. Jegatheeswaran, Mannar District Secretary Mr. Kanageswaran, Coordinating Secretary to the Deputy Minister Mr. Vasanthamurthy, the Chairman Mr. R. Raveenthiran and Senior officials of the Palmyrah Development Board, officers of the Mannar District Administration, the Chairman of Mannar Municipal Council and Nanattan Pradeshiya Sabha, as well as a large gathering of Palmyrah producers.
